The
history of St. Bedes Chapel (has recently been publicized in the
Greenwich Times.)
St. Bedes Chapel is historically significant
in that it is a classic example of Middle English Gothic architecture.
It was designed in 1907 by Theodore E. Blake and many of the fieldstones
used in its construction were from the nearby farm belonging to George
Lauder.
The museum-quality stained glass windows
depict various saints and painted in calligraphy on the ceiling are the
names of all of the Rosemary Hall graduates. The original seats are old-fashioned
rushed chairs with individual hymnal holders in each chair back. |
